Former Perryville police chief Keith Tarrillion was granted a change of judge Friday.

According to online court records, his attorney, Patrick M. McMenamin, filed the motion Wednesday. Tarrillion was scheduled to appear before Judge William Syler on Friday but online court records show the hearing was canceled. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Benjamin Lewis at 9 a.m. Feb. 7.

Tarrillion initially was charged with theft and forgery -- both felonies -- and a misdemeanor charge of making a false report. A Perry County circuit judge dismissed the theft charge at a preliminary hearing earlier this month but ordered the case bound over for trial on the forgery charge.
