Event to raise money for school's music needs

Mike Dumey, choral director at Central Junior High School, has planned a follow-up event to last spring's hit musical "Annie." An "Encore Evening with Annie and Friends" will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Cententary United Methodist Church to raise money for some wireless microphones, which he needs for the elaborate productions. "It's not dinner theater, but more dessert theater," Dumey said of the event.

There will be performances by junior high graduates and students, and from Southeast Missouri State University, singer and vocal instructor Judith Farris, and Dr. Gary Miller, chair of the Department of Music at Southeast. Students will usher and serve food.
