A program presented by television personality Don McNeely and a party recognizing the 10th anniversary of Southeast Missouri Hospital's Regional Heart Center will highlight a meeting Tuesday of the Mended Hearts.
McNeely's topic will be travel highlights.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast. People who have had heart surgery may attend.
Southeast began its open-heart surgery program in October 1984. As of Sept. 1, the heart center had completed more than 2,300 open-heart surgeries.
Patients have ranged in age from 91 to 27, and they have come from more than three dozen counties in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.
With the introduction of cardiac surgery to the area, Southeast also helped establish a local chapter of the Mended Hearts, part of a national, nonprofit service organization that provides continuing education and support for heart patients and their families.
For information about the organization, call 651-5541.
