EMERSON NAMED TO AG GROUPS

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Eight District Congressman Bill Emerson has been named to three subcommittees of the House Agriculture Committee.

He has been elevated to the ranking Republican on the Cotton, Rice, and Sugar subcommittee. He was also named to the Domestic Marketing, Consumer Relations, and Nutrition subcommittee and the Forests, Family Farms, and Energy subcommittee.

"I'll be switching from Wheat, Soybeans and Feedgrains subcommittee to the Forests, Family Farms and Energy," said Emerson. "But, I intend to remain very active on wheat, soybean and grain issues. I will continue working to ensure that these important commodities area treated fairly in any federal legislation and farm policy.
