An election to select a member of the Governing Board of East Missouri Action Agency to represent low-income residents of Cape Girardeau County will be held Aug. 10-31.
The election will take place at the EMAA Office, 1111 Linden, in Cape Girardeau.
Low-income residents of Cape Girardeau County who qualify either by conforming to poverty guidelines or by participating in any of the programs operated by EMAA may join in the election.
The programs include Head Start, weatherization, HUD housing, family planning, job training, energy assistance and commodities.
Nominations will be accepted Monday through Aug. 7. Any low-income resident age 18 or older may pick up a nomination form their local EMAA outreach office at 1301 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
The office will be moving to 1111 Linden on Aug. 8. For more information call 334-5533.
