The Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge recently named its students of the month.
Joshua Glueck, 17, was selected from Notre Dame High School. The son of Tony and Carol Glueck of Cape Girardeau, he is a senior and is active in soccer, basketball, Notre Dame Student Council and several other activities. He is listed on the school's B Honor Roll and plans to pursue a college degree in marketing.
Sarah Eddy, 17, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Eddy of Cape Girardeau, was selected from Cape Central High School. The senior is active in chamber choir, marching and jazz band, Latin Club, and volunteering at the hospital. She is on the B Honor Roll and plans to get a bachelor's degree in nursing from Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis.
The Student of the Month Program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding youth in the area. Students of the month are selected by a panel of their peers in each participating high school.
Multiple achievements, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection.
