CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Angela Jo Tanner and Kevin Pikey have been named Students of the Month for December by the Cape Girardeau Elk's Lodge 639.

Tanner, 18, is a senior at Notre Dame High School where she is president of the National Honor Society and secretary of the Student Council.

She is also involved in many extracurricular activities including Pro Life, Pep Club, Liturgy Council and Committee, SADD, and a hospital junior volunteer.

She has been named to Outstanding High School Students of American and Who's Who Among American High School Students.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Neal Tanner of Cape Girardeau.

Pikey, 18, is a senior at Cape Central High School where he is involved in Beta Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Letterman's Club, FBLA, Student Council, Varsity golf and football.

He is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Pikey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pikey of Cape Girardeau.

Students of the Month are selected by a panel of youth in each participating high school. Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selection.

Students are nominated by classmates and teachers.
