Area voters will decide a number of contested races Tuesday, everything from a mayoral race in Scott City to a city-council contest in Cape Girardeau.
Several school-board races also will be decided.
In Cape Girardeau, voters will choose between beverage-sales representative Patrick Koetting and banker Robbie Guard for the Ward 4 council seat. The winner will replace Loretta Schneider, who could not run again because of term limits.
In the Cape Girardeau School District, voters will choose from among three candidates for two seats. Incumbents Adrian Toole and Jeff Glenn are seeking re-election. They are challenged by Paul Lett.
Three candidates are running in the Jackson School District for two seats. They are incumbent Dan Stover and challengers Brad Noel and Brian Thompson.
Voters in the Oak Ridge School District will choose from among four candidates for two seats: Ron Tracy, James Seyer, Vernon Schoen and Jason Glueck.
In the Delta School District, five candidates are vying for two seats on the board. They are Amy White, Priscilla Hornbuckle, Meredith Cox Scherer, Virgle Alan Ikerman and Greg Brawley.
Four candidates are seeking two positions on the Delta Board of Aldermen. They are Ruth Thiele, Janie Kirkpatrick, Dennis Lesch and Teresa Byram.
There are a number of contested races in Scott City, highlighted by the mayoral contest between incumbent Tim Porch and councilman Ron Cummins.
In Ward 1, Councilman Bill Schwartz faces a challenge from Darren Raines. In Ward 3, there is a three-way race among former councilman Robert Tyler, Bobby Bollinger II and Matthew Koehler to replace retiring councilman Pete Wadlington.
Voters in the Oran School District will choose from among Garrett Cook, Carrie Massey, James Watkins and Clare Urhahn for two seats on the school board.
In the city of Morley, three candidates are seeking two seats on the board of aldermen. They are Earl Woods, Tim Fodge and Charles Freed.
Voters in the Scott County Central School District will choose from among Travis Glueck, Melette Pobst, Lucy Alberson and Carmen Thomas for two seats on the school board.
Voters in the Kelly School District will pick from among five candidates for two seats on the board. The candidates are Kindel Ward, Kellie Bridges, John Felter, Jerry Wolsey and Roger Neumeyer.
In the Village of Blodgett, voters will chose from among Richard Riley, Kenneth Plunk, David Russell and Cheryl McDonnold for two seats on the board of aldermen.
Two separate school board races will be decided in the Meadow Heights School District. Candidates Sheila Bess, Denise Lewis and Brian Brugger are running for two seats on the board. Candidates Carl Gene Burr, Bryan Wayne Thompson and Curtis Waggoner are vying for a one-year term on the board.
Voters in the Woodland School District will choose between Danny VanGennip and Douglas Lindley for a one-year term on the school board.
In Marble Hill, Ward 1 voters will choose between Roger Burr and Jackie Jenkins Jr. for a seat on the board of aldermen.
Five candidates are vying for two seats on the Leopold School Board. They are Laura (Jansen) Booth, Emily (Broshuis) Lanpher, Jim Thele, Marty Arnzen and Lee Vandermierden.
Voters in Perry County School District will choose among Mary Bauwens, Richard Dix and Nancy Voelker for two seats on the board.
Perryville city voters will decide between incumbent Wayne Keller and Zachary Rozier for the position of municipal judge.
Advance voters will choose between Ryan Schrader and William Woodard in the Ward 1 aldermanic race. Schrader is seeking to replace his father, Randy, who is stepping down from the board.
In the Advance School District, candidates David Kennedy, Todd Ritter and Joshua Johnson are running for two seats on the school board.
