MARBLE HILL -- Adrian Shell wants voters to elect him twice.

The Marble Hill mayor wants voters to re-elect him to a second, two-year term Tuesday. But he's also hoping to be elected as Bollinger County collector later this year. The Republican candidate is one of six candidates seeking to succeed longtime Collector Dale Bollinger.

Shell said Saturday that he sees no problem in doing both jobs. "Everybody has to make a living. You can't make a living in Marble Hill being mayor because it isn't a paying job."

In Tuesday's municipal election, Shell faces opposition from veterinarian Benjamin F. Ellis Jr.

Marble Hill voters also will be electing aldermen. In Ward 1, the contest is between Russell P. Masterson and James Young.
