Firefighters from eight area departments worked Saturday morning to put out a blaze at the Sedgewickville Variety Shop in Bollinger County.
According to the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department, someone at the building called to report the fire at 8:43 a.m. Saturday.
The individual was able to escape, and there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire, which started in a back room of the building, is still under investigation, a sheriff's department spokesman said. The state fire marshall has been called to the scene.
Firefighters from all six departments in Bollinger County were on the scene as well as firefighters from Millersville and Biehle.
