TAMMS, ILL. The United States Achievement Academy announced that Tom Farris, Tanda Fore, Tim Hart and Ray Melton, all of Egyptian High School, have been recognized for outstanding accomplishments in the visual arts and are recipients of the United States National Arts Award.
These students will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook, published nationally.
"Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America's history. Certainly United States Achievement Academy award winners should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement," said George Stevens, executive director of the U.S. Achievement Academy.
Farris is the son of Thomas and Mayr Farris. Fore is the daughter of Mary Lee Pfau and Gary Fore of Thebes, Ill. Hart is the son of Rev. Dick and Barb Hart of Olive Branch, Ill. Melton is the son of James and Marilyn Melton of Cache, Ill.
