The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce's 2014 Educator of the Year Banquet will be May 7 in the upper level of the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson, according to a chamber news release.

The event starts with social time from 5:30 to 6 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the program.

Educators will be honored with "The Marybeth Williams Educator of the Year Award," resolutions from the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Senate and other gifts. For reservations, call the chamber office at 243-8131 or email assistant@jacksonmochamber.org. Deadline is noon Friday.

Honorees are Beth St. John, in the choir department at Jackson High School; Heather Miller, who teaches high school special education; Jason Bruns, a seventh-grade science teacher at Jackson Middle School; Lisa Goodwin, a second-grade teacher at Orchard Elementary School; and Tammy Mueller, fourth-grade teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School.
