The Southeast Missouri Regional Easter Seal Society has launched its 1994 Neighbor-to-Neighbor campaign to raise funds to support the organization's programs and services for children with disabilities.
During the campaign, designated block captains throughout Cape Girardeau will be giving out a kit, which contains information sheets and donation envelopes. The kits are to be passed from neighbor to neighbor until it makes its way around the block and back to the block captain.
Donations will then either be taken to Capital Bank in Cape Girardeau or mailed directly to the local Easter Seal Society office.
The Southeast Missouri Easter Seal Center now features an Early Learning Center, a program which serves children at risk, as well as those with a diagnosed disability. Intervention is designed to provide support and information to the family with an emphasis on community coordination of services.
For the past 75 years, the mission of the Easter Seals has been to work with individuals, their families and the community to enhance the independence and quality of life of people with disabilities. Donations from all fund drives ensure that programs will continue and that new ones can be developed.
For more information about the campaign, contact Charles R. Martin, executive director of the regional Easter Seal Society, at 335-3377.
