KENNETT, Mo. -- A probation officer in Kennett is accused of having sex with one of the people he was supervising.
Frederick B. Tates on Wednesday was arrested by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department and charged with felony acceding to corruption and felony sexual contact with an offender.
The warrant for Tates' arrest said that, between Sept. 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009, he solicited sex in exchange for a "change [in] the supervision level of the client and/or waive supervision fees, and waive jail detention."
Tates also was changed with felony sexual contact with an offender between June 1, 2009, and June 30, 2009, for "knowingly [having] sexual intercourse with an offender under his supervision."
Tates was released on a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear before the Circuit Court of Dunklin County on Friday.
