Dump truck overturns on I-55 outer road

About 10 a.m., the truck belonging to J and K Trucking of Ellsinore, Mo., was southbound in the 2700 block of East Outer Road when it ran off the road and overturned, Scott City traffic officer Mike Culler said. The unidentified driver, who suffered bumps on his head and a bloody nose, had to be extricated from the vehicle, a co-worker said.

Scott City police blocked the road while the scene was cleared. The incident remained under investigation Wednesday.
