According to a news release by the Citizens Electric Corporation, about 9:45 a.m. Friday a dump truck hit a power line, resulting in a power loss in an area along Highway 51 south of Interstate 55 to the Perry County line.

At the peak of the outage, 691 customers were without electrical service, the release said.

By Saturday, power had been restored, according to Citizens Electric's website.
