Ducks Unlimited is a not-for-profit organization with a mission is to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. Since its inception in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has enhanced and restored more than 11.5 million acres of wetland and waterfowl habitat to reverse the destruction of wetland habitat. Last year local Cape Ducks Unlimited chapters, their members and volunteers helped raise money to conserve 111 acres of wetlands.
Wetlands provide habitat for more than 900 wildlife species, filter and provide clean water for North American streams and lakes, buffer against storm and flood surges and recharge our aquifers -- the source of much drinking water. Wetland conservation also supports plants that create oxygen, helping clean the air we breathe.
