The Alexander County Sheriff's Office, the Southern Illinois drug Task Force, and the Illinois State Police have combined forces to crack down on drugs and drug dealers in Alexander County.
A drug sweep Tuesday morning though the Olive Branch and Klondike areas resulted in five arrests, according to a prepared statement by the Alexander County Sheriff's Office, who declined further comment on the incidents.
Janice Calvert, 33, of Olive Branch, Ill., was arrested for unlawful delivery of controlled substances, unlawful drug conspiracy, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Ricky Mennefee, 51, of Klondike, Ill., was arrested for unlawful delivery, unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Michael Roberts, 34, of Olive Branch, Ill., was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
A male juvenile, 15, was cited for parole violation and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
The Alexander County Sheriff's Office did not release information on the fifth arrest.
Arrests are mere accusations and do not imply actual guilt.
