Drivers urged to use caution in upcoming work areas

* A section of Main Street in Jackson will be closed from Monday to Thursday while work continues on the Jackson Uptown Historic District renovation project. The section of road to be closed is between Hope and Missouri streets.

* Sections of Interstate 55 in Scott County will have restricted traffic Tuesday while Missouri Department of Transporation crews make bridge repairs. Traffic in the southbound lanes will be limited to one lane on a bridge between routes PP and E. Traffic in the northbound lanes will be limited to one lane on a bridge between routes H and C. The work is planned from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

* Highway 34 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to a single lane in two locations between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday while Missouri Department of Transportation employees perform bridge maintenance. One bridge is between Indian Springs Road and Cane Creek Lane. The second bridge is between Union Avenue and Colorado Street. Motorists are asked to use caution in the area.
