BRIDGETON, Mo. -- A 79-year-old driver died after crashing into a pedestrian at a St. Louis-area bus stop.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Elizabeth Baylark of St. Louis suffered a "medical condition" Friday before losing control of her car. The vehicle then went off the right side of the road and struck a 21-year-old woman at a bus stop bench.

Baylark was pronounced dead at a Bridgeton hospital. The pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a Creve Coeur, Mo., hospital.
