SCOTT CITY - A tractor-trailer rear-ended a vehicle on Interstate 55 Monday, injuring the vehicle's driver.
The driver, Kenneth Sorrells, 53, of Wichita, Kan., was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, reported the Missouri Highway Patrol at Poplar Bluff. A St. Francis spokesman said Sorrells was treated and released.
The patrol reported the accident happened at 10:08 a.m. a half-mile south of Scott City.
The tractor-trailer, driven south by Anthony Rouse, 31, of Monterey, Ind., struck the rear of the southbound car driven by Sorrells, said a patrol spokesman.
The spokesman said the report did not say whether Sorrells had slowed or was stopping his vehicle. Sorrells was not wearing his seat belt, he said.
