A traffic accident on South Sprigg Street blocked traffic for over 45 minutes this morning.
The accident happened just after 11 a.m. in the 800 block of South Sprigg, when a woman driving a Ford Expedition was traveling south and struck a parked Ford Ranger, said Cpl. Joe Thomas of the Cape Girardeau Police Department. The driver told Thomas she was texting on her cell phone and failed to see the parked vehicle, which was unoccupied.
The Expedition ended up on lying on its driver's side, while the Ranger was pushed across the street, its bed crumpled.
Thomas said the driver of the Expedition had what he classified as minor injuries.
