A 47-year-old Cape Girardeau man was cited for running through a red light Thursday, which police say led to a two-car accident at the intersection of William Street and Kingshighway.

The man was southbound on Kingshighway when he ran a red light and struck a vehicle in the westbound lane on William Street, said Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey. The other car was driven by a 20-year-old woman from St. Peters, Mo.

When the woman went through the intersection, her vehicle struck his, causing his vehicle to roll over, Hickey said. The female driver suffered no injuries.
