DORENA, Mo. -- The Dorena-Hickman Ferry halted operations at 10 a.m. Monday because of high winds, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Capt. Ed Floyd said swells mid-river were about 6 feet. The wind was clocked at 30 to 35 mph with occasional gusts nearing 50 mph. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects Kentucky Highway 1354 at Hickman, Ky., with Missouri Route A and Highway 77 near Dorena.
