The Dorena-Hickman Ferry, which connects Missouri with Kentucky, has suspended operation because of high water, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Floodwater is preventing vehicles from reaching the Kentucky landing and has made it impossible for vehicles to use the ramp onto the ferry, the release stated. Kentucky Highway 1354 near the landing also is closed due to high water.

The ferry is expected to remain closed for several days, based on Mississippi River level predictions, the release stated.
