The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is seeking input on the services and facilities people want at Trail of Tears State Park. The department will hold an open house and informational meeting from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 30, with the meeting scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The meeting will be held in the visitor's center at the park, which is located 10 miles east of Fruitland on Highway 177. Park representatives will present an overview of the park and its resources and will be available to answer questions and accept comments about the park and its facilities. The open house and meeting are part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public as input on services and facilities in state parks and historic sites. Anyone requiring special services or accommodations to attend the open house or meeting can call the park at 290-5268 or the department toll free at 800-334-6946.
