DEXTER, Mo. — A 13-year-old was struck by a car and killed Monday afternoon in Dexter.
According to reports, Tristan “Chase” Morrison, a student at T.S. Hill Middle School in Dexter, was hit by a car at the intersection of West Grant and South Sassafras streets between 3:30 and 3:45 p.m. Morrison was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
The Dexter Police Department is investigating, although there were no indications the driver was speeding, and no charges are expected to be filed.
Some students at Dexter schools wore purple Tuesday to remember Morrison.
Visitation for Morrison will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, with the funeral service at 3 p.m.
