DEXTER, Mo. -- A Dexter teenager faces 10 charges after a high-speed chase through the city Monday.
Police said Zachary Truett, 17, was driving recklessly just before 1 a.m. Monday as he was southbound on One Mile Road. When local police tried to stop Truett's pickup truck, he sped away, clocked traveling as fast as 85 mph.
As Truett tried to turn onto Susan Street on One Mile Road, he reportedly lost control of his truck, striking a stop sign and a utility pole guide wire.
Police said Truett fled was later arrested at his residence a few blocks away on Fannetta Street.
Truett was charged with failure to use a turn signal, leaving the scene of an accident, damage to city property, private property damage, careless and imprudent driving, resisting arrest by fleeing, failure to stop/obey police, speeding, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and not wearing a seat belt.
Truett was transported to the city jail.
