BLOOMFIELD -- A Dexter man was killed in a one-car accident Wednesday night, the state Highway Patrol said. BLOOMFIELD -- A Dexter man was killed in a one-car accident Wednesday night, the state Highway Patrol said.

Ronnie Duckworth, 51, was driving south on Highway 25 at 10:05 p.m. when the accident occurred. Duckworth's 1998 Chevorlet traveled off the west side of the roadway due to wet pavement about a mile south of Bloomfield, Trooper M.L. Keeney said. The car overturned, the trooper said.

Duckworth was pronounced dead at the scene.

In Missouri this year, 422 people have died in vehicle accidents. This is a 13 percent increase over fatalities by this date in 1999.
