DEXTER, Mo. -- A Sunday house fire killed a Dexter man, authorities said.
Dexter fire chief Don Seymore said Michael Henley, 44, was found dead at his home after the department responded to a fire at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
Seymore said the fire marshal listed the blaze as accidental and as the result of smoking in bed.
Seymore said he and his department and were called to the scene around 8 p.m. Mathis pronounced the victim dead at 8:41 p.m.
