Dexter man dies in motorcycle wreck on Highway 25

A Dexter, Missouri, man was killed riding a motorcycle about 5:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 25 just south of Arbor in Cape Girardeau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Jacob J. Fields, 25, tried to pass a 2007 Chevrolet Astro driven by Edgar D. Abner, 72, of Oran, Missouri, while driving his 2011 Honda motorcycle south on Highway 25.

Abner was making a left turn and struck Fields from behind. Fields was pronounced dead at the scene an hour later by Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton.
