The program, coordinated by Larry and Carol White, selected a male and female student each month of the school year through March, with consideration given to the students' academic standing and leadership qualities in school and in the community. Of the seven county schools, the final selections Tuesday night were Sara Ramsey from Richland High School and Greg Ulm from Dexter.

Ramsey, the daughter of David and Karen Ramsey, will begin her college career at Stanford University in the fall. Ulm, the son of David and Linda Ulm, will attend Missouri State University in Springfield. Each received a $100 savings bond from the Elks.
