DEXTER, Mo. -- A Dexter city alderman was issued a summons on Friday afternoon for third-degree assault, and the second party involved in the confrontation received a summons for trespassing.
Dale Ray Pixley, 43, who was elected in April to serve as Ward III alderman, was issued the summons following a confrontation at his place of business, Pixley Auto Repair, on Business Highway 60, according to Dexter police.
According to local authorities, an incident took place at Pixley's shop Friday afternoon involving Pixley and 43-year-old Mark L. Adams from Puxico, Mo., who had entered Pixley's shop area. An altercation ensued following Pixley's request to Adams to leave the premises. After leaving the business, Adams proceeded to Dexter Police Headquarters and requested the summons be issued for Pixley for assault.
A second summons soon followed, issued to Adams, on the charge of trespassing.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Dexter City Municipal Court on Oct. 15 to address the charges.
The issuance of a summons, according to City Administrator Mark Stidham, has no repercussions with regard to Pixley's position on the board of aldermen.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a civil dispute regarding a repair job that Pixley was commissioned to perform on a vehicle owned by Adams.
