A Chaffee, Missouri, woman threatened another woman with a knife during a domestic disturbance Monday, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Scott County deputies arrested Patricia Ann Knight, 42, at 6 p.m. Monday. The Scott County Prosecuting Attorney’s office charged Knight with unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor domestic assault.
Knight began punching the female victim’s face and back of the head about 3:30 p.m. at a residence in the 3600 block of Highway 77 in Benton, Missouri, according to a probable-cause affidavit from deputy Adam Crowe. The victim’s boyfriend stepped between Knight and the victim to try to break up the altercation, Crowe wrote.
Knight briefly left the residence but returned holding a knife, according to the statement.
“If I’m going to jail, I’m going to jail for a damn good reason,” Knight said before heading towards the victim, according to the statement.
The boyfriend stopped the assault by grabbing Knight’s wrist, pinning it against the door and taking the knife from her hand, Crowe wrote.
Knight said she struck the victim in self-defense and never had possession of the knife, according to the statement.
The boyfriend said he was not sure who hit whom because it all happened so fast, Crowe wrote. He also got hit in the face in the process, according to the statement. He said Knight attacked the victim with a knife, Crowe wrote.
