Dates chosen for holiday concerts

Dates have been set for two local holiday concerts.

The Heartland Pops Orchestra and Chorus will perform its annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at Cape First Church. The featured guest choir will be the Perry County Luthern Chorale under the direction of Tyson Wunderlich. KFVS12 anchor Mike Shain will serve as guest narrator.

The Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation will present its annual benefit concert, "Sounds of the Season," at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at Cape Bible Chapel. Mike Dumey will be master of ceremonies. Performers include Casie Janet, Quitman McBride, Brodrick Twiggs and dancers from the Academy of Dance Arts.

Proceeds support cancer programs at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Mother and daughter cancer survivors Betsy Dinkins and Laura Norton-Dye will chair the event.
