CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Jeff Maurer, a senior at Notre Dame High School, received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.
He was chosen by the faculty and members of the senior class as the senior who best exemplifies qualities of patriotism, leadership and dependability.
Maurer is senior class president and vice-president of the National Honor Society. He is co-captain of the varsity basketball team and plays on the baseball team.
Maurer is a member of the concert choir and this year is featured in the school musical "Into the Woods."
He is also a member of the Liturgy Council, Future Business Leaders of American and Student Council.
Maurer was selected for Who's Who Among American High School Students and has earned an academic letter for high honor roll the past three years.
He is the son on Jim and Theresa Maurer of Cape Girardeau.
