Five dancers from the Academy of Dancearts have been selected to attend summer dance programs and for scholarships.
Michelle Bennett is attending for the second year the Missouri State Ballet summer program. She also earned a scholarship to the Academy of Dancearts.
Tania Morris earned a scholarship to attend the state ballet. This is her third year to attend the summer program. Morris will also attend the Pacific Northwest Ballet summer program in Seattle, Wash.
Bethany Caplan will attend the Missouri State Ballet summer program for the first time this year.
Two dancers also earned scholarships to study ballet at the Academy of Dancearts. They are Jamie Seabaugh and Sarah Semmler.
The dancers participating in the Missouri State Ballet program left Monday for the two-week clinic. Dancers are selected for the program by audition.
Scholarships are awarded by the Academy of Dancearts each year to dancers from different levels. The awards are based on merit.
