PERRYVILLE -- A 50s and 60s dance featuring King and the Jukebox Jammers will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight Jan. 25 at the American Legion Hall in Perryville.

The dance is a fund-raiser for the Perry County Memorial Hospital to pay for three flag poles and a plaque that will honor area veterans. The flags will be placed in front of the hospital.

Tickets for the dance are $5 per person and are available at local veterans organizations, the hospital gift shop and the Golden Needle.

In 1951, the hospital was dedicated to the memory of men and women who have served the nation in war. The estimated cost of the flag poles and the plaque is $5,000. A dedication ceremony will be held in the spring.
