KELSO -- The third annual Cystic Fibrosis fund-raiser dance will be held Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Kelso Knights of Columbus Hall.
Sally LeGrand, dance chairperson, said last year the event raised $3,600 for the foundation.
LeGrand's daughter, Jessica, is afflicted with the disease.
"The fact that someone dear in my life has cystic fibrosis ... has been my main motivation in keeping with fund-raisers such as this one," LeGrand said.
"When you come to the dance, you will be helping Jessie and all the other victims of cystic fibrosis that she represents."
She said the money raised from the dance will go to fund research to help find a cure for the disease.
Cystic fibrosis is the No. 1 inherited killer of children and young adults in the United States. The disease attacks the lungs and digestive system. One in 20 Americans unknowingly carry the CF gene.
Live music will be provided by "Decade." Admission is $3 per person and a cash bar will be available. No bottles or coolers are allowed.
Tickets are available in advance by calling the Knights of Columbus Hall at 264-3008.
