SCOTT CITY -- Gale Dale continues as president of the Scott City Board of Education after the board reorganized last week.
Kevin B. Hillemann and Tom Anderson were re-elected to three-year terms in Tuesday's election.
Cathy Raines, who had been serving as board secretary, was elected vice president; Nancy Caldwell was elected secretary; and Hillemann was elected treasurer.
Ray Smith and Wayne Petitt also serve on the board.
As a personnel matter during the special meeting, the board hired Stephen O'Brien as a junior high science teacher for the next school year. His extra duties will include head baseball coach, assistant football coach and ninth-grade boys basketball coach.
O'Brien graduated from Southeast Missouri State University last December and is teaching at East Prairie this semester.
The school board will meet April 19 at 6 p.m.
Reorganizational meetings are scheduled Monday for the Chaffee and Oran school boards and Tuesday for the Kelly and Delta boards.
The Chaffee board will meet at 7:15 p.m. in the high school library.
Bob Sullivan and Sharon Crowden retained their seats in Tuesday's election over challenger Alvin Vandeven. The board will begin its monthly meeting about 7:30.
The Oran board will reorganize at 7:30 p.m. in the superintendent's office and board room. Incumbents Mike Wheeler and John Bertrand retained their seats over two challengers. The board will have its regular meeting April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The Kelly board will reorganize Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board office, followed by its monthly meeting. Incumbents Rita Milam and John Felter will begin three-year terms after facing two challengers in the election.
The Delta board will also reorganize at 7 p.m. in the high school multipurpose room before its monthly meeting.
Keith Cook was re-elected to another term while Robert Goehman was the second vote-getter among the six candidates.
