Cape Girardeau police are investigating the robbery of a County Transit Authority van. About 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, officers received a report of a robbery on Hazel Street, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department. The driver of a CTA van told officers he had gone to a Hazel Street address to pick up a fare when three men approached the van, Hickey said. The driver told police one of the men displayed a handgun and demanded money, so he gave them a bag in which fare money is kept, Hickey said. The subjects took an undisclosed amount of money and fled north on foot, Hickey said. The driver was not hurt, he said.
