Howell, a senior editor of "ELLE" magazine and a regular contributor to numerous national and international arts magazines, will discuss "From Mirror to Prophecy: A Critical Look at Art in a Critical Time."

Howell is the son of John Howell, who was instrumental in establishing the regional education center in Malden. He grew up in Malden and attended Southwestern University in Memphis, Tenn.

Howell writes art criticism for Art Forum magazine on a regular basis. He also contributes to Art in America, Art News, Flash Arts, Art Press International and Vogue.
