Rip-rap is off-loaded Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 from a barge that ran aground a week ago on the Mississippi River below the water intake at Cape Girardeau. Another barge sank next to it. They were part of a 25-barge tow being pushed by the Alois Luhr down the river, when the barges got away while rounding Cape Rock Bend. A floating oil drum marks the end of the submerged barge which Okie Moore Salvage will raise. The barges are owned by Luhr Brothers, Inc.
