OCTA, Mo. -- A two-car crash on U.S. 412 at Octa last week seriously injured 17-year-old Kameron Houchins of Senath, Missouri.
The young man was airlifted to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was listed in serious condition. Traffic was delayed as emergency crews worked the scene.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol report by trooper B.W. Emerson said that at 3:53 p.m., Houchins drove his eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado into the path of a northbound 2012 Ford F750 driven by 65-year-old Elmo Poyner of Tiptonville, Tennessee.
Houchins's car was totaled, and Poyner's vehicle sustained extensive damage. He was not wearing a seat belt.
