Also injured in the accident were Traci L. Chapman, 20, and J.C. Crawford, 19, both of Fredericktown. None of the victims were wearing seat belts.

Chapman was taken by helicopter to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where she was listed in fair condition Wednesday night. The patrol reported Crawford was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

The patrol reported that Wallace was eastbound on Route J, when he apparently went off the south edge of the roadway in a curve, over-steered and crossed the highway into the path of a pickup truck driven by Chapman. The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m.
