Each tag is a piece of yellow, tubular plastic 1-1/2 inches long, attached to the fish's back, just behind the dorsal fin. Anglers can receive rewards of $5 to $100 for returning the tags and providing information about the catch.

To collect a reward, anglers must send tags and completed tag return cards to: Fisheries Management, Missouri Department of Conservation, 1110 S. College Ave., Columbia, Mo., 65201.
