CPA BUSINESS HAS NEW NAME AND LOCATION

Schott & Company Certified Public Accountants has a new name and new offices.

William R. Scott and Melvin J. Van de Ven announced last week that the firm is now operating under the name of Schott & Van de Ven Certified Public Accountants. The company has moved its office to 1020 N. Kingshighway, Suite D, he said.

The firm was founded in February 1959 by William R. Schott. Van de Ven joined the firm as a part-time employee in 1968.

The firm has offices in Marion, Ill., Marble Hill and Van Buren, Mo. Including the partners, the firm has a staff of 21 people.

In 1989 the firm was honored by editor of the CPA Digest as one of the top-50 small accounting firms in the nation. In 1990 the firm completed a quality review. Application was made and membership was accepted in the private companies' practice section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Schott and Van de Ven serve on major committees of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Van de Ven is a member of the society's board of directors.
