Two new assistant prosecuting attorneys bring the Cape Girardeau County prosecutor's office to full strength. Both are graduates of the 2005 University of Missouri-Columbia law school class.
Michael S. Linsenmeyer tried his first bench trial and covered his first docket on Oct. 3. He filled the slot formerly occupied by Gordon L. Glaus, who left the prosecutor's office in September to go into private practice. Linsenmeyer graduated in the top 10 percent of his law school class and was on the Missouri Law Review. Linsenmeyer is originally from St. Charles, Mo., and originally graduated from the Georgetown University with a degree in government.
Brent M. Nelson assumed his duties on Monday. He brings the line of prosecutors up to six members. He applied to Morley Swingle's office after he heard the prosecutor speak at one of his law school classes. He won the Fred L. Hall Jr. Foundation Estate Planning Award for most notable achievement in Estate Planning. Nelson is originally from Nevada, Mo., and graduated from Truman State University with a degree in political science and a minor in biology.
