Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau was recognized at Missouri Farm Bureau's 88th annual meeting for outstanding program achievements.
Representing Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau, Tom Sachse, county board president, accepted the award for the county from Gary Branum, District 6 State Board member.
The county achieved a 2002 membership quota of over 1,200 members this year and nine gold stars for excellence in several program areas. Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau was recognized for having top programs in promotion and education, information, commodities/marketing, local affairs and projects, policy development, political action, legislative, young farmers and ranchers and quota.
Nearly 1,500 Farm Bureau members and agricultural leaders attended the annual meeting of the state's largest general farm organization.
