The quarterly meeting of Cape Girardeau County Council was held June 3 at the University of Missouri Extension Office. Joan Meyer presided, and Francis Hahs gave the devotional.
Susan Mills, extension club consultant, presented a video program on "Summer Desserts by Mr. Food."
Mills gave a report on the recent Vice Presidents Planning Meeting. A number of programs are planned for the rest of 1993 and for 1994.
Meyer reported on the Spring District meeting held in April at East Prairie, and announcement made concerning the $200 scholarship available through the council.
An idea of reaching people through the extension clubs was presented by Sandra Francis. She told of a potpourri of crafts day that clubs in Jonesboro, Ark., sponsor.
Members were reminded of the blood drive June 30 at Holiday Inn Convention Center from 2-7 p.m. Clubs are asked to donate two dozen cookies each, and the council will furnish drinks.
It was announced that Ann Yuede and Patty LaForest will attend the state meeting in Jefferson City July 20-22.
Margie Swan gave a report on the tour committee and noted the deadline has been extended for the Mackinac Island trip scheduled July 12-18. Christmas at Opryland Hotel is planned Nov. 11-13.
The next meeting is Sept. 2 at the extension office.
